When "…IS GOOD" left killradio.org, we decided to take what we had built thus far with isgoodmusic.com and add an internet radio station fueled by the artists found on the site. Isgoodradio.com started at the home of fellow dj Katrina Miller and later settled in at the colossal Bedrock Studios.
The station streamed the best selections of local artists from the IsGoodMusic Network 24/7 and we cut into the growing playlist live with exclusive "…IS GOOD" interviews, and original programs like Good Medicine, National Corporate Radio, Hear Here, What's So Funny, You Can't Spell 'Acerbic' Without Eric, Ammunition, A Nice Cuppa Tea and more…
IsGoodMusic evolved from internet radio and loves the format, but the cost of renting a studio space plus the cost of paying monthly royalty fees is trumped by our desire to focus our funds more exclusively on providing our artists with the best online tools and the best events we can. IsGoodMusic is committed to the idea that with the right resources, the best music rises to the top.
So at the end of March, we bid farewell to the streaming isgoodradio.com. New "…IS GOOD" interviews will be recorded and podcast on-site with the musicians, wherever the band rehearses and records. Some new original content will be produced and posted on isgoodmusic.com, as well as our staff playlists. Some members of the isgoodradio family are coordinating their own community-based project, so we'll keep you updated on their new developments.
We have an ever-growing community of the best musicians in LA, our signature original events like the EVFA Garden Party and Firelight, and several new opportunities in music supervision, blogging, and more, so stay tuned.
A few months ago, I was approached by one of Isgoodmusic's favorite bands, Fire Bug, to organize a backyard acoustic music festival in their own Silverlake back yard. It was so crazy, it might just work, and it did… twice. In only two installments thus far, Firelight has presented more than 15 different bands in an unparalleled atmosphere of music appreciation and beer.
Welcome back! At the beginning of the year, the ISGOODMUSIC team took a few weeks off from dayjobs, friends, families and other distractions to redesign, reinvent, and realize the potential of our independent music project. Those who've been with us from the beginning, those who've recently come aboard, and those who are checking us out for the first time will note that we not only offer...
For a long time we've been wanting to find the right venue for highlighting the groundbreaking electronic artists who've come through the ISGOODMUSIC Network. We may be known for supporting the indie rock community, but good music is GOOD music. After providing the live sounds for several successful Garden Parties with Edgar Varela Fine Arts, we were asked to do the same for Pretty Vici...
